Hi Everyone! Please check out the "Press" page when you get a chance - we've added another article which Ellen Thrall wrote for Western Horseman magazine. This latest addition was written in 1980. More to come, so stay tuned!add comment

Thank you so much to Robin Lisak, who has made a donation to the Tarpan Association in memory of her sister, the later Ellen Thrall. We so much appreciate the support of your family, Robin; please check back soon for more on Ellen's work! Monday, March 27, 2006, 03:42 PM
We now have online payment capabilities! If you'd like to donate to our conservation efforts, or you want to join our Association, just go to the "About Us" page, and look for the little Tarpan button! You don't need to own a Tarpan to join us - membership entitles you to our newsletter, minutes of our meetings, and a say in the conservation process! Payment can be made with your paypal account, or by credit card. So, if you'd like to help, don't delay; just click on the button!Monday, March 20, 2006, 01:24 AM
We sure accomplished a lot at our meeting this evening! Thank you to everyone for coming, and for being willing to discuss some hard questions!
Welcome to Eric and Lorraine Dane, who attended their first meeting tonight - we're thrilled to have your involvement!
Carla will have the minutes ready shortly, and we'll get them out to our members, but here are some highlights.
Our membership application and our application for certificate of heritage were approved tonight, and will be sent out to all interested parties immediately. They'll also be available online. Our focus this year will be on improving the visibility of the Tarpan; we plan to have Tarpans in parades and in shows throughout the season. Watch the web site for information on where you can meet a Tarpan; and if you are a Tarpan owner, let us know where you'll be showing so we can tell everyone!
There was a lot of discussion on the Breed Recognition project; before we can apply for status, we need to find out if the breed is officially recognised in Germany. We also need to spend both time and money to get DNA work done on as many Tarpans as possible. More information on that will be available when Gus Cothran is settled in his new office at Texas A&M and is available to talk about it.

The local members of the NATA Executive are preparing for a meeting this Sunday (March 19, 2006), at which we hope to address a number of big issues. On the agenda are approval of the new membership forms and applications for registration, the beginning of a DNA project aimed at future breed recognition, and a plan for the continued conservation of the breed. The agenda, and the meeting results, will be posted on the site, and we welcome any comments you might have.Back Next
